Zoo-Phonics

Our Pre-K and Kindergarten children learn
Zoo-Phonics. They are able to pick up on letter sounds very quickly and it is a
fun way to keep them engaged. Each letter has an animal picture and arm
movements to help remember the sound. The children quickly start to blend the
sounds into words using the picture cards. During writing workshop, I can help
the students recall the letters they need by using the arm/hand signals. It is
very neat to watch them understand and apply it to their writing. I have a small
picture of each animal on my word wall beside each letter.
